Signs It Is Time to Stop Replacing the Liner

If any of these sound familiar, a fibreglass conversion is worth a conversation:

  • Your liner has torn, faded or needs replacing again.
  • You are spending more on liner replacements than the pool is worth.
  • The liner has developed wrinkles, creases or bubbles that will not go away.
  • Algae keeps returning along the seams no matter how many chemicals you add.
  • Your pool fittings and skimmer boxes are leaking or failing.
  • You are planning to sell and want to add long term value to the property.
  • You are simply done with the cycle of ongoing liner maintenance and replacement costs.

Our Process

How Liner to Fiberglass Pool Resurfacing Works

  1. Strip & Assess

We remove the existing vinyl liner, tracks, gaskets and fittings to expose the substructure beneath. We then assess whether the walls and floor are solid enough for a direct fibreglass application or whether additional structural work is required first.

  2. Prepare

The exposed substructure is patched, smoothed and prepared to create a solid, rigid surface for the fibreglass to bond to. Any incompatible fittings and skimmer boxes are removed and replaced with fibreglass-compatible alternatives at this stage.

  3. Laminate & Coat

Multi-layer fibreglass matting is applied directly onto the prepared surface and saturated with high-grade vinyl ester resin — building the fibreglass lining layer by layer across the entire pool interior.

  4. Gelcoat & Finish

Once cured and sanded smooth, a UV-resistant gelcoat is applied in your chosen colour — giving the pool its final smooth, seamless finish and the protection it needs to perform in WA conditions for decades to come.
